EN FORME
A choreographic piece for four dancers
Inspired by drawings by Franz Kafka „The new way of seeing Franz Kafka’s work, who is perceived as a visual artist by Jacqueline Sudaka-Bénazeraf* is... startling. He positions himself in a tradition, or better in a line of visual thought, from Chinese calligraphy to silent films, passing by Yiddish theater. This vision seemed to me closely related to my choreographic work : Like a hand which sketches or draws, between play and self-derision, make dance reveal stories which are consolidated in the unconscious. What I am looking for : a trace of the body in space, the choreo - graphy in its initial sense, in relation to a vision of the human condition which I would qualify as burlesque, absurd but funny.“ Didier Théron

“The burlesque is a way of passing between obstacles, to simulate indifference, to initiate
- without being obvious - catastrophes and collisions along the way (Buster Keaton), to use one’s body to elude confrontation with the dominating system.”*
